Menu Monday

at it again… well at least i’m trying

Well… it is time to focus and work harder at making good choices when it comes to food. I need healing food. So… that is what I am attempting to do.

Monday – I had a green smoothie with apple, pear, spinach, cucumber, etc; a smoothie with strawberries, avocado, pea protein powder, and a banana; and stir fried veggies with bell peppers, zucchini, onion, carrot, and taco seasoning.

Tuesday – I had a green smoothie with romaine lettuce, celery, kale, apple, lemon juice, and ginger; a smoothie with blueberries, lemon juice, pea protein powder, and aloe vera juice; some bitchin’ sauce made with almonds and sour dough bread; Chinese stir fried veggies.

Wednesday – I had a green smoothie with apple pear, cucumber, kale, lemon juice and mint; a smoothie with blueberries, strawberries, pea protein powder, and lemon juice; a couple bites of my grand daughter’s mac an cheese in a moment of weakness; and veggies.

Thursday I had a smoothie with apple, pear, fresh pineapple, pea protein powder, spinach and beet juice powder; bread stick bites; and veggies stir fry with cauliflower, swiss chard, garlic, onions and mushrooms

Friday I had a berry smoothie with pea protein powder, strawberries, a banana, and avocado; a couple pizza bites – again in a moment of weakness; left over veggies from the day before; and steamed cabbage, and veggie sausages.

Saturday – I had a smoothie with pea protein powder, strawberries, banana and an avocado; V8; a couple pizza bites – again that moment of weakness; and a miso soup with tofu, cabbage, bok choy, mushrooms, carrots, and rice noodles.

Sunday I had fresh bread my daughter made, sugar free tofu pudding my husband made; beans and lettuce in a tortilla shell, fruit salad, left over miso soup, and a green smoothie with cucumber, kale, apple, pear, and pineapple.

I am struggling to stay on a set idea. My problem comes when I am eating out, or at the mercy of someone else planning my food, or I am too tired and unprepared to make good choices. There are so many things still in my kitchen that are tempting but other people still want or need. I also need to do better at making the time for good choices for my health. My life is moving far too fast and I am not giving myself the time I need to heal what is going on within me and to create health.

I started reading a new book as well… it is a book about Traditional Chinese Medicine and tapping the healing power within. I will let you all know how it goes when I finish the book.
