Yesterday I was so impressed with my nephew. He saw families sleeping on the sidewalk in 26 degree weather… a 3 year old hopping up and down to stay warm… and sprang into action! He went to the store and bought all the blankets and coats and hats and gloves he could, went back, and passed them out. My sister raised him right.
I saw so many people helping people yesterday. I makes my heart happy.
Jesus taught: “Blessed are they that mourn.” —Matthew 5:4
Crushing burdens and tragic losses can nearly overwhelm people at times. To show Christlike compassion, we should comfort those who mourn, helping to lift their heavy hearts.
Today I will be mindful of those who suffer with sadness. Today i will try my best to lift the hand that hang down… hug those who are sad… listen to those who need a listening ear.
