I’ve been thinking about people who struggle to find happiness lately. I have my days when life feels crappy and I have my days when life is alright. The more I seek pure happiness the more I understand that those seeking happiness take personal responsibility for their words, their behavior, their actions, their mistakes, their ideas and the the consequences of their action. They leave the words, mistakes, beliefs, ideas, actions and consequences of the actions of others to others.
Taking personal responsibility mean you don’t blame others for your unhappiness. It means figuring out ways you can be happy, no matter what others say and do.
So much easier said than done.
Taking personal responsibility for your happiness involves a willingness to surrender… to surrender to God, to surrender to outcomes you are dealt in life. It involves faith.
I can not control other. I can control own self.
