The last couple of days I have done a ton of listening… mostly to stressed out teens. I am realizing that I am often needed to be a “mom” at school to many kids who don’t get to see their mom or have mom with so many issues they can’t help their kids. However, my favorite mom moment is when my own child comes in and crawls on my lap and asks for a hug. Not many teens are that comfortable with their mom that they will sit on their lap in public. I love that I have a good relationship with my teen. That is real kindness.
