Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 558

Truth!

Today I am grateful for 8 hours of sleep. I sure with I knew the secret to getting deep sleep. My Fitbit says I am getting enough REM and light sleep. I just never get to deep sleep. I have come to the conclusion that my body has learned that deep sleep is dangerous since I’ve had sleep apnea most of my life. My body is very efficient in waking me up just enough if I head into deep sleep. I’ve had a Bi-PAP for over 20 years. You’d think that my body would have learned that it is safe to sleep. I will keep working on it. But then again, I’ve trained myself to sleep light due to listening for kids who might need me. Somehow I need to convince my body that they are adults now and are no longer afraid of the dark. LOL.

Today I am grateful for the time I spent in my garden wedding before it got too hot. My garden is very therapeutic for me.

Today I am thankful that my friend Jeff came over to help me with and application I was filling out. I am also grateful for the friends and colleges I connected with today who are willing to serve on my mentor panel and who are willing to be a reference as to my experience in my field.

Today I am grateful for my time spent chatting with my friend Jamie. It is always uplifting to chat with her. I hope she feels the same way.

Today I am grateful for fun chats on Marco Polo with Hannah, and with Lennayah and Beckett, and for the lovely chat I had with John this evening.

Today I am grateful for a successful 47:1 fast for my health and well being. I am also grateful for the tofu cucumber dish I made to end said fast. I “breaded” the tofu with a little corn starch, flax seed meal and chia seeds before frying it. I seasoned it with garlic, onion and ginger with a little light soy sauce, chicken broth and water before adding the cucumbers and a small zucchini from my porch garden. It turned out so good! I had 3 bowls. I also had a couple tortilla chips with some of my friend’s salsa. Also, very yummy. And to help my tummy with digestion I drank some kefir water I made myself by feeding the kefir grains in sugar water for 48 hours and then adding them to a jar with some lemon water I created by adding lemons, oranges, limes, ginger and red pepper flakes into hot water to steep. Also delish!

And check out this bruise on the top of my foot. It is even darker now, at the end of the day.
