This morning I was drinking a glass of water and I started thinking about how lucky we are to have clean water – even filtered water – right in the comfort of our homes. I thought about when I was a kid and water came to my house in a truck and my parents would have it poured into a boat that acted like a reservoir. I thought of the ditch that would fill our cistern. I though of the times when the water didn’t run and we would need to go to school to shower and drinking water was in buckets. I was so grateful for water in my house!
I decided to look up an organization that helped people get water. I found Mercy Corps. Click here to check out Mercy Corps for yourself. I found that I could “buy” clean water for someone for a reasonable price. I could even make it a gift and send someone a card explaining that I made a donation in their name. But I think the real gift is the water for a family in need somewhere in the world.

There are other gifts you can choose from… even a goat!
Anyway… this morning as an act of kindness… I donated to help a family have clean water somewhere in the world.
