365 Days of kindness

For the past year I have focused my days on spreading happiness.  I worked on being a ninga of niceness.  I found that kind acts make people happy, and happy people are nice to others, and the happiness grows and grows.

I’ve learned a few things about myself and about kindness along my journey: Kindness is not a weakness, it is a strength. Kindness is not easy, it takes work and a conscious effort.  Kindness takes strength, patience and wisdom.

Kindness signals, like quiet radio signals, are always there, urging you to be the good in the world.   It takes practice to tune in to these signals and to act on the promptings of kindness.  It takes practice to tune into the needs of others and move away from the blaring thoughts within our own heads.  The more we tune into the kindness signals, the more we notice them.  The more we notice them, the more grateful we are for them.  The more we act on them, the more more we see opportunities to share kindness.

At the end of my year, attempting to #bethelight, to make a difference in this world through kindness, I recognize the world has changed.  Well, not the world but me.  I have changed.  I see others in a new and brighter light.  I am calmer, overall.  I have more gratitude in my heart.  This gratitude has led me to believe that my next 365 day goal is a gratitude thing.  What would change if I focused on gratitude (blogged about gratitude for 365 day in a year?  Time for a new experiment.
