Today I am not feeling myself. I have a cold from the fast paced life of go, go, go I live and I am now being forced to take a day of rest.

I think my body has got my attention now.
To rest means to cease from a particular activity. I know that rest important for life. In fact, vital organs are designed with built-in rest periods. The heart rests between each beat. Lungs rest between each breath. The stomach rest between meals, if we let it. The brain and nervous system recharge during sleep. Rest and relaxation are necessary for life.
So, today I am resting… my body is insisting.
Today I am grateful for the chance to rest.
I am grateful for the energy my body normally has so that I am able to keep up with myself.

I am grateful for Netflix so that I can veg-out on my rest day.
I am grateful for my teenage who is understanding that today I don’t have the energy to venture past my bed.
I am grateful for tissues. I remember the days when tissues were like using sandpaper on your nose. Now they are soft!
What are you grateful for?
