#gratitude, gratitude

An Attitude of Gratitude Experiment 2.0 Day 16

Today I am grateful for the Sabbath. It is nice to have a change of pace!

I am grateful for the opportunity I have to lead spiritual discussions with ward members.

I had a remarkable experience today during the lesson I was teaching via Zoom for Sunday School. We were sharing words and phrases in Moroni chapters 4-5. These are the chapters that share the Sacrament prayers. As members of the class bore testimony of the principles and concepts that ran true with them, I felt inspired to look up 2 words in the dictionary. I Googled the meaning of “sanctify”. I was touched by the reminders of the definitions – set apart, free from sin, acceptance. I Googled “bless”. I was touched by the reminders of these meanings as well – endearment, endow, gift, and gratitude. I suddenly saw, for the first time, that God set apart one who was free from sin as the acceptable sacrifice – The Bread of Life – for the benefit of ALL… especially when those souls take action and witness, testify, and see that they are willing to TAKE His name, REMEMBER Him, and KEEP His commandments. A loving Father provided a Savior – Living Water – assigned to concur death through death. Anyway, I don’t know if any of this makes sense, but it makes a great deal of sense in my mind and heart. Then a new thought came to my heart… His Spirit! When you fully bend your will to God’s will we will experience the Second Comforter. We will have the opportunity to have the Savior walk beside us, minister to us and teach us… personally. I am so grateful for the Savior and for His sacrifice in my behalf. I am so grateful for the opportunity to teach with the Spirit and to be taught by the Spirit. I am grateful for the lessons I was taught today.

Today I am grateful for family. It’s nice that Kimber’s family live close enough to have Sunday dinner with us regularly. I need to take these opportunities when I can get them. Before I know it, they could be moving far away and these opportunities will be lost. I love that Lilli and John and I are getting better and better at “togetherness.”

Today I am grateful for soft foods… lasagna and garlic bread… it wasn’t Keto, but at least I could chew it without too much pain.

Today I am grateful for phone calls with grand children. They are sure cute. I miss having McKay’s family living close enough to interact with them on a regular basis. COVID is making it hard for any visits at all.

Today I am grateful for phone calls with parents.

Today I am grateful for text messages that help me stay connected with Hannah.

Today I am grateful for the Christmas Devotional and the message from church leaders and the prophet.

Today I am grateful for a day that I didn’t have to get dressed. I’ve been in my pajama’s all day.

Today I am grateful for a little time to crochet.

Today I am grateful for St Nicholas Day. It’s a fun little tradition in our family. I am inspired by his life and by his dedication to easing the sadness and burdens of those in his community. I hope that I live a life that eases the burdens of others. I am also grateful for Lilli who went happily out to deliver little gifts to shoes…

Today I am grateful for the students and former students who helped me create some teaching materials. I will explain later this week when I get to use it.

Today I am grateful for time to sit on my back porch.

Today I am grateful for the little heater that is heating up my toes. It seems like they are always cold.

What are you grateful for today?
