Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 228

Lots to think about today…

I am thankful for the Sabbath and a chance to focus on Jesus and my devotion to Him.

I am thankful my parents got to travel over the mountain to listen to Hannah give her post-mission talk in church today. She did a great job and I definitely felt the Spirit.

I am thankful for the few minutes I spent singing with my girls. That was fun. We’ve always had music in our home, but nothing is like Hannah being home singing non-stop.

I am thankful for the bowl fully of raspberries I enjoyed eating from my garden.

I am grateful for the yummy veggies I has in the fridge and was able to make some kind of veggie soup with.

I am grateful I stumbled on a great on-line class about healing the heart through qi gong. I learned SO much… and not all of it was from what the guy said… The Spirit was teaching me too! For example, the master teacher said something about excepting positive energy from the universe and I got lost in thought about the word “universe.” After all, I am doing my best to resign as the general manager of the universe. I should figure out what deep meanings the word might have. I looked it up in the dictionary. I found the expected “all the known matter in g the cosmos. I was more interested in the root of the word… Middle English, from Latin universum, from neuter of universus entire, whole, from uni- + versus turned toward, from past participle of vertere to turn — more at WORTH. Mind blown. My first thought was being at one, entire, whole, and complete with the creator. Then, the thought occurred to me that all matter turns to the One and the One is turned to His creations because they are of great worth. (“the worth of the soul is great in the sight of God.”). No wonder we should except positive energy from the universe. To do so is to accept energy and life force from God, Himself. A couple of other things I learned from the class and from the whisperings of the Spirit that i am grateful for: the heart seeks joy and peace, the brain seek responsibility; we need to cleanse the lens of our mind through meditation and prayer; I can choose to say “no” to accepting negative energy and experiences, even if they are happening all around me; the pericardium meridian helps to protect the heart from the negative influences of life and emotions. PC7 and PC8 are located on the wrist and in the palm of the hand. massaging them helps to release negative effects and I suddenly realized that they are points that remind me of the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Once you let go of the negative in an experience and allow the healing power of Jesus fill your heart, you will experience great joy. Mind blown! I am grateful for what I learned today.

I am grateful for a little time to ponder and think and to breath.

I am grateful for my hottub.

I am grateful for clean laundry.

I am grateful for Jesus.
