Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 418

For the next few days I will be beginning my day with my gratitude post because I will be having some late days/nights at work and I know I will be too tired to sit down and write when I walk in the door well after a Godly hour.

I am grateful for sleep. I am working at improving it. Slowly. There are days I don’t see much improvement,and I doubt that I will see any in the next 4 or four days. But the sleep I get… I am grateful!

Today while I studied the scriptures I was impressed with the phrase “armed with righteousness.” In Ephesians 6, Paul teaches us that putting on the armor of God helps to protect us from the “wiles of the devil.” Well, there are plenty of “wiles” and “waskly wabbits” around and I don’t know about you, but I am in need of all the help I can get! That is why I need the WHOLE armor of God. Satan is attacking every front he can to stop the work of the Lord, including my progress and the progress of my family.

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth (protecting chastity and morals and family, since family comes from the loins), and having on the breastplate of righteousness (protecting our heart, motivation and intention);

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace (protecting our walk along the path toward the tree of life from shark “rocks,” “thorns,” and “hot sands”);

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith (an offensive weapon, ready to move at a moments notice in the direction of attack), wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation (protecting our thoughts and our knowledge of truth and light), and the sword of the Spirit (our defensive weapon – a sharp weapon able to divide truth from error), which is the word of God:” – Ephesians 6:11-17

I always add chain-male. To me chain maille are the every day choices me make to be kind, to choose the right, to invite the Spirit of the Lord to guide us. Links are added to your chain maille each time we pray, read the scriptures, serve others, and express gratitude. Chain maille protects from fetal blows. There will be a bruise, but it won’t wipe you out.

With God’s armor, we will NOT fail.

I am grateful that God has provided us armor.
