Dear self,
Change is hard… even when it’s a repeat of “changes” in the past. With that in mind, I have a few reminders for you.
Express gratitude everyday… even for the hard things. An attitude of gratitude brings the blessings of heaven to your heart and to your mind.
Changing the outside isn’t the same as changing the inside. Just “looking healthy” doesn’t mean you have made the necessary changes to be healthy on the inside. It’s not like if I gave my car a new new paint job it won’t break down in traffic. You have to pay attention to the engine with regular maintenance and oil changes and a good wash on a regular basis to keep a car looking good on the road.
Small daily effort have a much bigger impact than you think. It really is the little thing. Taking baby steps in the right direction is still progress. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. I am a tortoise. Embrace it.
Don’t be afraid to fail. The world like you to believe that there are perfect people and that everyone else knows what they are doing. Social media is NOT real life. Trust me. They are just as clueless as you. Everything I am good out is because I failed… a million times… before I learned what to do. Be willing to dust off and try again… and again… and again. Eventually, you will get there.
Believe. As I move through life I am just beginning to understand there is great power in FAITH… especially when it is focused on Jesus. I can do all things in Christ.
You got this. If you are face down in the mud, look up, stand up, brush off, and take baby steps.
