Forward Steps, I am a Child of God

Dear God, I’m Tired

You Are a Child of God, and You Don’t Have to Carry Everything Alone

Sometimes the most honest prayer we can offer is simply:

“Dear God, I’m tired.”

Tired of worrying. Tired of trying to be strong. Tired of carrying responsibilities and burdens nobody else can see.I’ve been feeling this lately.  I’ve been fighting a serious case of “I-Don’t-Wanna.” And that’s okay. Being exhausted doesn’t mean we’re lacking faith. It means we’re human.

Heavenly Father Knows You’re Tired

As children of a loving Heavenly Father, we don’t have to pretend we’re strong all the time. He sees our struggles, understands our worries, and knows when we’re overwhelmed. His love isn’t measured by how much we accomplish or how well we hold everything together. We are still His beloved children, even on the days when we have nothing left to give.

Jesus Christ Offers Rest

In Matthew 11:28, the Savior invites us:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus Christ doesn’t ask us to fix everything before coming to Him. He invites us to bring our burdens, exhaustion, and imperfect prayers. Sometimes His help comes through peace. Sometimes through strength to face another day. And sometimes through someone willing to help us carry the load. Rest isn’t weakness. Asking for help isn’t failure.

A Simple Prayer

If you’re feeling worn out today, try praying:

“Heavenly Father, I’m tired. Please give me strength for today, peace about what can wait, and the wisdom to know when I need rest. Help me remember that I don’t have to do everything alone.”

Then allow yourself to slow down. Not everything needs to be accomplished today.

Remember Who You Are

You are a child of God. You are loved for who you are, not for how much you do. Heavenly Father knows your heart. Jesus Christ understands your burdens. And when you don’t have the strength for a long prayer, three honest words are enough to begin:

“Dear God, I’m tired.”

You don’t have to carry everything alone.
