Today was a good day…
I started early with only 4 hours of sleep. I was up far too late planning for the week. Then I was up at the crack of stupid because John’s alarm kept going off. It was okay. I needed to get up because I didn’t finish what I needed to so I was ready for the week. I am grateful for the sleep I got and for the energy I had all day, despite the lack of sleep.
Today I worked from my school building. I needed to do a couple recordings. With John and I working from the same office, it makes it difficult to get a quiet moment to record for my classes. I am grateful that I was still able to get into the building to to get more work done than usual.
I am grateful that Jeff taught me how to set up Zoom for my classes. Google Meet was okay, but I could not successfully use break out rooms with Google Meets. I am super Grateful we got permission to use Zoom for classes! I’m going to try it tomorrow for my Intro to Theatre class. We are wrapping up our Improv unit. I’m hoping that break out rooms will allow students to practice the skills we have been talking about. I am also grateful that I was able to teach something to Jeff in return. I knew how to use this awesome program called Pear Deck. I was able to help him get started in using Pear Deck for the first time. He said it went well. Cool!
I am grateful that I got my work done fairly quickly, allowing me some time to run down to the Shop and Ag rooms and to help my friends pack food for a program they support called “Food for All.” In a normal year they have their students serve the community and pack the food that is donated by farmers in the area to be distributed throughout the community to people in need. It’s cool. I love that my colleges teach their students the need for volunteers in a community and to have giving, serving hearts. Today I packed apples and assorted root veggies. After 2 hours of working, my hands were BLACK. LOL. It was totally worth it! I think I will go back in the afternoons for the rest of the week.
Today I am grateful for Lilli making dinner. She also brought me a drink during the day. I sure love that kid. She makes me smile.
Today I am grateful for funny little grand kids who called me to ask about a silly “snowball” (marshmallow) tossing game I sent them. I love that they are excited for simple things.
Today I am grateful for John. He works hard. Today he went to work in the yard in the dark to get the yard ready for a new spa. He most likely get much work done over the weekend due the forecast buckets of rain… thus, he is working in the dark.
Today I am grateful for enough of my chores and work done, that I will actually get to go to bed at a decent hour!
What are you grateful for today?
