Fire Cider Tonic

Prep time: 10 minutes

This is a great way to fight flu and cold season and give your immune system a boost

Ingredients

1/2 c fresh ginger, grated

1/2 c fresh horseradish, grated

1 medium onion, chopped

10 cloves garlic, minced

2 hot peppers such as jalapeno, anaheim, cayenne, etc, chopped

zest and juice from 1 lemon

fresh rosemary

fresh thyme

2 Tbs turmeric powder

1/2 tsp cayenne powder

Bragg’s Apple Cider

raw honey to taste

Directions

  1. Place all the ingredients but the last 2 into a quart jar.  After everything is stuffed into the jar, fill the jar with apple cider.  Place somewhere cool and dark for 1 month.
  2. After 4 weeks, strain the vinegar, squeezing every last drop from the pulp.  Then add honey… usually 1/2-1 cups.  Store in the fridge.  Eat 2 Tbs every morning as a tea. Works well to flavor a warm broth as well.
