Wake up call

Okay.. Last week wasn’t the best in eating.  It’s not like I went crazy and ate a bag of M&M.  In fact, I didn’t eat sugar.  I didn’t drink soda.  I didn’t eat a steak.  I just didn’t eat the whole foods and veggies I normally do.  I didn’t take the time for a veggie based breakfast.  I didn’t take the time to make a salad for lunch.  I ate “out” a couple of times.  OH… and I didn’t take pictures of any of my foods.

You see, I was super busy with the close of my show.  I wasn’t home 2 Saturdays in a row to prep my week.  I wasn’t home at dinner time to make food.  As a result, I ate in an unhealthy vegetarian manner.  Crackers… some cheese… a piece of cheese pizza… a veggie burrito that someone brought me and forgot to take off the cheese…

What did I get for my mindless eating for the week?  My first cold in over a year.

Okay.  Now I’m sold.  Before my life of veggie/plant based eating I would have colds several times a year.  I would ache all over.  I wouldn’t be able to move much.  I experienced toxic hunger all day long.

In a way, it is time to start over.

It is time to retrain my taste buds.  It is time  to break “old” cycles and start a few new ones.  It is time to heal and repair this old body.  It is time to make every calorie count.  It is time to go back to eating foods that are rich in nutrients and low in calories.  It is time to add a bit of exercise into my day.  It is time to step up my positive thinking.  It is time to eat the rainbow.

Fruits-and-Veggies

I don’t see last week as a fail.  #1 I didn’t stop trying #2 I didn’t fall into sugar and fats to solve my problems.

I do see last week as a wake up call to get my act together and to renew mind-full eating.
