Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 553

I didn’t finish writing a blog post yesterday because I had an allergic reaction to something and had a pin prickly rash everywhere and my hands and feet were crazy on fire. But I am grateful for Benadril and sleep! I feel much better today.

I am grateful for a fun adventure taking Lilli shopping yesterday. I was trying my best to cheer her up. It didn’t really work. But she did look more cheerful when her friends Ethan, Carsyn, and Jocie came to play in the pool, hot tub, and to watch a movie with pizza.

Yesterday I had a yummy steamed broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce for dinner. I snacked a little on mixed nuts and 2 slices of Swiss cheese as I cooked the rest of dinner. I also enjoyed some yummy berries.

Today I am grateful for the free broccoli I received that I turned into 11 bags of frozen broccoli. I am also thankful for the salad prep I did. I put 2 cups of lettuce – from the garden and from the local farm lady – in baggies, and chopped cucumbers, zucchini – both from the farm lady -, carrots and cherry tomatoes in little bowls to create salad kits. I also chopped kale for future. use. I am grateful that Lilli helped me and we added 8 bags of blueberries, 2 bags of blackberries – berries from the farm lady – to our freezer for future smoothies.

Today I finished a 22.5:1.5 intermittent fast with a whole wheat pasta with garden fresh herbs, garlic, onion, broccoli, zucchini and cherry tomatoes, sprinkled with mozzarella cheese. It wasn’t exactly keto, but it was so yummy! And it’s super fun to know than I grew some and the rest was all grown local. As a “desert” I enjoyed fresh blueberries.

I am grateful that John is finding success with intermittent fasting. I don’t know if he is losing weight, but he says he is feeling better and he has even slowed down on the snacking thing. Very cool.

I am thankful that Lilli was willing to run a couple errands for me, including going to the grocery store for me.

I am grateful for the fun chats I had with Hannah throughout the day. She struggles on Thursdays on her job. There is 3 days left in her work week and it is often overwhelming to her.

I am grateful for the sweet Marco Polo from McKay and Tatem. Made me smile.

I am grateful for John working on some new stairs on our deck.

I am grateful for scripture study. I am so grateful for my ever growing testimony of Jesus Christ. We are all so blessed.
