Theatre has always been a place of self discovery for me. It has been a place where I could make sense of the world around me. Everyday I help out with the theatre program in my local school. Every day I see kids get out of their superficial cellular lives and start interacting with others, learning about human nature and their own selves in the process. Admittedly, it they don’t always make the choices I would make, but they are beginning to think through things in a different light. In the long run, this is a good thing. I wish more students had the opportunity and the courage to give a theatre class a try.
