Today in my scripture study... I pondered how important is was for Nephi and his brothers to get the records of their forefathers, how important it was for them to remember how God had blessed family members and to remember their own relationships with their ancestors. I pondered the question, why is it that in… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 406

Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 405
Today some new thoughts as I pondered the ever famous "go and do" scripture of 1 Nephi 3:7. Going is actually showing up. Can't have "an experience" if you never show up. Doing is participating. It's pretty hard to enjoy an experience when we don't participate. How many things have I missed because I didn't… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 405
Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 404
As I spent a few minutes in my scriptures this morning, before an early meeting, I was reminded of a great principle... "... the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." This principle has been… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 404
Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 403
Two things stand out to me in my scripture study this morning. 1) Knowing God is what bring peace, but it takes work. Nephi felt peace, even in the middle of affliction because he knew God. It was more than knowing scriptures. He recognized the hand of God in his left. He knew he has… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 403

In summery, 1) spiritual experiences happen in different ways for different reasons 2) some… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 400

Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 398
I am grateful that a few people came and helped with the Millie set. We made a dent... not as far as I had hoped, but it will do. I am also grateful that I caught the mis-use of the 10' boards before I would need to buy a ton more. I am grateful for… Continue reading Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 398
Developing an Attitude of Gratitude – Day 397
I am thankful I got in a ride on the stationary bike 18 minutes... day 2! and "biked" 4 miles. Well, it's a start. I am glad worked on blogging and school related things. I am glad I didn't burn the house down when I forgot I was cooking eggs and got exploding eggs.
