Family Friday

Another Opening, Another show

The best way to describe the past week with the Boyack family this week is a mad dash to opening night of Lion King, Jr. at Central High school.  From finishing touches, to long rehearsals, to opening night and sell out houses, it has been a full week. First, the beginning of the week… Continue reading Another Opening, Another show

#bethelight – Day 120

Today my act of kindness is for myself.  Today I will rest. It's been some long weeks.   We could all use rest.  I believe that is why God created the Sabbath.  I will be writing some too.  But that is rest from my usual activities.  I've skipped a few days of writing because I have… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 120

#bethelight – Day 119

Wow!  Long day.  Two shows and a lunch with characters at school today.  Today I share nearly $120 worth of wraps/ace bandages.  I bought them so that I would have what I needed for my daughter's foot to be protected during the run of the play.  I ended up using nearly everything I bought on… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 119

#bethelight – Day 118

Today was a great day for service.  Helped a couple kids with hurt ankles.  Helped teach at school.  Helped kids get ready for our second show of Lion King Jr.  Helped a great friend celebrate his birthday.  Seriously.  It was a good day!

#bethelight – Day 118

For the past few months I have been sharing my knowledge and love of theatre with 63 cast members and 16 crew members.  Last night was opening night.  Last night I sat back and let them take the glory and the spotlight.  I am proud of these brave kids.  It was a great opening night.

#bethelight – Day 116

I got home late yesterday and didn't get to report my efforts in kindness.  Yesterday I mailed a box of silliness to my missionary.  Missionary life can be hard and a bit lonely.  I just want her to remember how loved and supported she is.

Menu Monday

It Can Be Done – Even on Busy Weeks

This week I drank a smoothie every morning... along with my apple cider and lemon juice water. I had a salad for lunch everyday.  The hours I keep are rough around the time I am trying to open a show.  Thankfully, there are pre-made salads in the veggie section of the store.  No chopping involved. … Continue reading It Can Be Done – Even on Busy Weeks

Scripture Sunday

Savoring the Sabbath

Today, in church, we talked about the importance of the Sabbath day.  The discussion got me thinking. The fourth commandment in the ten commandments God gave to Moses teaches us to set aside one day out of seven to "rest" from work and to focus on worshiping God. "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it… Continue reading Savoring the Sabbath
