Wow! Another crazy week at the Boyack funny farm! We have all been super busy with school, work, and staying afloat.
The girls and I have been running. Addams Family the Musical opened at Central High school on Thursday. I have been working major overtime putting finishing touches on all the lighting, sound and set for the production. I even designed and apply the makeup for Grandma, Morticia, Wednesday and Alice. It’s a large amount of makeup to get done in an hour and a half. Hannah was nice enough to set up and help us with the music for the show. She has rearranged her schedule to come to all the performance to run the track and to help with all the mic needs. Lilli plays the Stewardess ancestor and is the understudy for Wednesday. It’s a hard work learning 2 parts. I am so proud of the young lady she is developing into. Freshmen year in high school is a rough transition. She is good at making friends. She is keeping up in school, play rehearsals, and dance. She works hard and does her best to make good choices.
John has been working AND holding down the fort. Since, Hannah, Lilli and I have been super busy and rarely home, he has been keeping up on laundry, cooking, animals, and chores around the house. He even had time to come down to the high school to film the dress rehearsal and a couple nights of the Addams Family performances. One night Ben came to be his assistant.
Kimber and Ray took the kids to the ward Chili Feed and Trunk or Treat. With Addams Family performances the same night, the rest of us missed out. However, it looks like it was a ton of fun. These little people as super sweet! I love the pictures Ben draws for us and the stories he comes up with. Freya is a ball of happiness. You just can’t help but smile when she beams up at you.
McKay took the kids on a road trip to see the Meridian, ID to see the temple. With the new temple opening soon, they were able to tour the temple and to feel of the peace that the temple brings. Lenayah was so cute most of the time. The best part was when she got to the Christus at the end. She was so overwhelmed and in awe. She said to McKay as they walked away, “me touched Jesus’ feet.”
Holy cow! Being a grandma is awesome!
Chad is serving away in Michigan. He is on the home stretch. He is assigned to be a District Leader. He seems to be enjoying his service.
The biggest news is that Hannah got her mission calling! She has been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints to labor in the Arkansas Bentonville Mission.” Her mission cover parts of Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma as well. She will leave January 24th to serve for 18 months. She is super excited to serve!!!
My greatest accomplishment, and my greatest pride and joy are my children. They truly are my greatest success. They have inspired me in all aspects of my life. I love them with all my heart. All that I do is for them. I rejoice in their successes. My heart sinks when they suffer. I get up up everyday because I want to see what they, and my my grandchildren will do next. They are everything to me and I hope that they know that. I also hope that they know before them comes my Savior. I truly believe my favorite scripture found in 2 Nephi 25:23-27:
“For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do… we are made alive in Christ because of our faith; yet we keep the law because of the commandments… we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.”
This week the Lord blessed me to know that they are listening.
I sure love these guys!
