Once upon a time I thought that forgiveness indicated that whatever action a person did was acceptable.  This thought made forgiveness hard.  As I gain more understanding and wisdom, I realize that this is not forgiveness.  I am discovering that forgiveness is letting go.  Forgiving is an ongoing practice for me.

Nearly all high school seniors believe that they are going to college and bad grade won’t stop them.  Have you listened to the “future plans” of graduates read as they walk across the stage at graduation?  Okay.  A large majority are heading to a community college because open admissions is a “thing.”  But are they successful?  Do they complete college?

This subject has been on my mind for quit some time.

It is my observation that students who perform poorly in high school most likely will not graduate from college, may even not go beyond remedial course.  Did we really serve them well?  I believe there is a close connection between high school preparation (difficulty of classes offered and grades) and college completion.  I am not alone.  It would appear that researcher are seeing similar trends.

It’s been a good week of eating… even it I tried a new recipe that I wasn’t a fan and didn’t eat much of it.  I was able to stay on track and eat healthy foods all week.

Monday I started the day with a berry smoothie for Breakfast.  I went across the street and got a salad from the salad bar for lunch.  It was loaded with veggies and I had vinegar as a dressing.  For dinner we had Pumpkin Chili.  Click here for the recipe.  This was yummy… so yummy I ate it most of the week.

Tuesday I have veggies for breakfast.  I had a salad with no dressing and a little cutie for lunch.  For dinner I had left over Pumpkin Chili.

A testimony is the personal assurance of Jesus Christ’s divinity, that Jesus is the Christ.  Paul wrote, “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).  To gain a testimony we must hear of Christ.  We must pray for divine conformation as witnessed by the Holy Ghost.  We must be willing to act on the answers we receive.  Alma taught that we must “experiment upon [the] words… even until ye believe in a manner ye can give place for a portion of [the] word” (Alma 32:27).  We must be willing to open our hearts… we must have a desire to know.
