Tomorrow we open our latest production at school... The Bully Plays. The Bully Plays are a collection of 10 minute plays created to inspire the end of bullying. However, I have to admit that I am confused as to why this is an issue. Whatever happened to "The Golden Rule?" Has the Golden Rule gone… Continue reading What Happened to the Golden Rule?

#bethelight – Day 70
Yesterday had it's ups and downs. Days like yesterday mean that your act of kindness truly is to keep your cool while chaos reigns around you. Today, to combat the chaos of yesterday, I am starting the day with an attitude of gratitude. Saying, "thank you" matters. Appreciating the efforts of others matters. Today say… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 70
#bethelight – Day 69
Today, as an act of kindness, I will stay calm.
Busy Week!
I'd say I had an ok week eating wise. I do need to get a handle on what time of day I eat. I often get home late and end up eating dinner around 9 or 10 pm. With my busy schedule (work/school, rehearsals, and performances) I need to find a way to prep and… Continue reading Busy Week!

Ingredients 2 c sliced carrots 1 onion, diced 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp cumin 1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1 large tomato, diced 1… Continue reading Ethiopian Cabbage
Veggie Pot Pie
I like this easy recipe. I can prep it on a Saturday, put it in the refrigerator, and drop it in a crock pot or dutch oven later in the week. Ingredients 6-7 c bite size veggies (I use Brussels sprouts, frozen corn, frozen peas, potatoes, carrots, and pre-sliced mushrooms) 1 onion, diced 4 cloves… Continue reading Veggie Pot Pie
The Gift of the Holy Ghost
This past Christmas we gave my daughter a new cell phone. This phone can help her to keep in touch with her parents. This phone can give her knowledge when she has a desire to search. This phone can guide her when she needs direction. This phone can help her to stay connected to things… Continue reading The Gift of the Holy Ghost

Singin’ in the Rain Drops
I have to admit… I love my job!
Resigning as the General Manager of the Universe
I was given the opportunity to paint a back drop for Howard Street Middle School for their production of Singin’ in the Rain.
I went over to their school and picked up 8-10 flats. I primed the flats to cover the multiple layers of other paint from past shows.
I drew out a basic design…

… and my beautiful daughter and I got to work painting the drop. Hannah worked on scrumbling a mixture of shades of blue for the basic background. I transferred the drawings from the small design to the large backdrop. I would scrumble, but the job looks better if one person scrumbles so that the technique stays consistent.
We taped around the letters so that Hannah could scrumble right past them without needing to worry about going around them.
