Developing and Attitude of Gratitude – Day 1

Let's be thankful to God 365 day in a row. Join me in thanking God when the sun shines down on us and when we find ourselves weathering the storms of life. Let us thank Him for all His goodness in the good times and in the hard times. Let's thank Him when He strengthens us and when He restores peace. Join me for the next year as I ponder on all of His goodness, tender mercies and blessing - large and small - that He showers on our lives each day.

365 Days of kindness

For the past year I have focused my days on spreading happiness.  I worked on being a ninga of niceness.  I found that kind acts make people happy, and happy people are nice to others, and the happiness grows and grows. I've learned a few things about myself and about kindness along my journey: Kindness… Continue reading 365 Days of kindness

Family Friday

Starting into November

The first week of November flew by.  Early in the week Lilli and her theatre friends went out to Pentacle Theatre to see the student performance of Lilli Shop of Horrors, starring our friend, and teacher, Jeff Witt.  She said it was okay... even if some scenes made her a little uncomfortable. We also held… Continue reading Starting into November

seeds of gratitude

Gratitude makes room for hope... real hope.  It fans the fire of hope and keeps the fire of joy and laughter alive, warming the soul. Gratitude is the light that allows us to see in an ever darkening world. Maybe my next year long kick should be about gratitude.  I will find more light in… Continue reading seeds of gratitude

Lifting the Poor Wayfaring Men of Grief

As we were leaving a Walmart parking lot yesterday, I rolled down my car window and gave a dollar to a homeless man on the corner. He grabbed my hand and genuinely thanked me for the dollar, but asked if I had anything for a headache. It was so hot outside. No wonder he had… Continue reading Lifting the Poor Wayfaring Men of Grief

Warrior Wednesday

Warriors See Roses

Years ago I learned an important lesson... Be glad the thorn bush has roses. A Warrior sees the roses. In the past, I have been known to see the negative in things... maybe even everything. I don't remember when, exactly, but one day I woke up and realized that the only thing I could change… Continue reading Warriors See Roses

Warriors are Givers

Warriors are givers. Givers seek out ways to be helpful and give to others. Takers focus on getting as much as possible from everyone around them.  A Giver is always looking for ways they can be of assistance to others.  A Taker is always trying to figure out what they can get out of any… Continue reading Warriors are Givers

#bethelight – Day 124

Today I was a sub.  Let me tell you... teachers do not get enough credit.  Teachers are not only responsible for the subjects they teach.  They are responsible for the well being of the students.  They are often called upon to be a nutritionist, a counselor, a booboo fixer, and mediator.  They often spend 1000… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 124

#bethelight – Day 112

Today my act of kindness was the extra hours I put into painting the set with little, and then later, no help. My list is still so long. One more late night to go before I have an audience viewing this labor of love. I am super grateful for Joy (a sweetheart of a lady… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 112

A Warrior Stays Positive

A Warrior stays positive! Negative things happen all the time... to everyone.  However, we do not need to allow the negative situations to effect our lives and our attitudes.  You can remain positive in the midst of tragedy. A Warrior stays positive! Surround yourself with positive people that can help you, and each other, through… Continue reading A Warrior Stays Positive
