This has been a week of gorgeous produce - from my own garden and from the local farm we get all of our vegetables from. Earlier this spring, my husband and I decided to invest in a local farmer and bought a co-op share in a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm. BEST DECISION EVER!!! Bermudez… Continue reading Bountiful Veggies
Month: August 2017
Life is a struggle. At least, this is a fact that I have learned throughout my life. Whether it is physical pain, emotional pain, struggles with insecurities, or the continuing fight to grow a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, life is a struggle. Life's struggles often frustrate our abilities to increase our faith.… Continue reading
Sleep like a Baby
There is nothing like waking up after a great night of sleep. They say that we spend 1/3 of our lives seeking a good night's sleep. "I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?" - Ernest Hemingway I take great satisfaction in a good night's sleep. The… Continue reading Sleep like a Baby
Many A New Day
This week seems like the beginning of many new experiences. It is a little unnerving to wait with no idea (ok a little idea) of what the future might bring. First new experience - Lillian got what I call "big girl hair." She got high lights and a trim. What did we get? A beautiful… Continue reading Many A New Day
Little Actor’s Acting Camp
Last week the amazing kids I associate with at the high school organized and ran an acting camp for kids in our community. A Senior, 17 teen year old, Matisyn Robischon took it upon herself to organize, manage, fund, and put into action Little Actor's Acting Camp. The camp ran for 5 day, 3 hours… Continue reading Little Actor’s Acting Camp
Choose to Rise!
I have found through my life experience that most often the battles that get to most warriors are the battles that are fought from within. People are complicated. Being made in the image of God is complicated... yet simple. I read an old Cherokee story today. It goes something like this: One day an old… Continue reading Choose to Rise!
Love Trumps Them All
Under Pressure - Queen and David Bowie I must confess, I don't understand hatred. The examples of hatred that are saturating our society baffle me. Hatred run rampant in our politics, society, and religions. I can't escape! I see hatred on television shows, movies, computer screens, schools, streets and communities. I see hate's ignorance and… Continue reading Love Trumps Them All
Insights on Obedience
Love this post by a fellow blogger. F.Y.I. I CHOOSE obedience. There are no HAVE tos in life. 🙂
So, tell me…
If someone is forced to do something good, did he actually do something Good?
If someone appears like he’s doing something good, did he actually do something Good?
If someone is doing something that someone else labeled (or deemed) “Good”, did he actually do something Good?
Time to Practice
My 6 year old is taking private viola lessons. Why? Because my wife has grand visions of a family symphony. That said, there’s always the challenge of practicing your instrument to be good at it, and that’s nothing new to our potential violist. For a 6 year old, though, practice time sometimes takes 2nd fiddle (pun intended) to playing with LEGOs.
Last night’s practice episode started out well when he did the easy stuff, but when it came to actually putting the bow onto the strings, something inside of him said, “I’m tired of doing this. I…

What’s on the Menu
I have realized 2 things in the last couple of weeks... I am still adjusting my recipe size. I used to make dinner for 7 or more. Now I make dinner for 2 and sometimes, four. (My kids aren't ready to give up former foods, even if they are making some effort here and there).… Continue reading What’s on the Menu
Scripture Sunday – The Great White Out
Today, as I sat in church, a thought struck me. The little girl who was baring her testimony of Christ and how the Atonement of Jesus Christ allows us to have a “do over,” I thought, “Christ is my white out! Because of Him I can rewrite my story anytime.” I know. It’s a weird… Continue reading Scripture Sunday – The Great White Out
