D&C 93:36 "The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth." I've heard this scripture for most of my life. It is the motto of the university I attended and graduated from. Intelligence usually is coupled with gathering of information... learning... thinking. God wants us to learn. He wants us to… Continue reading Glory of Truth Enlightened

Satisfaction Preserved
This is canning season. Most years I am filling my canning jars with tomatoes, salsa, peaches, grape juice, and apple juice. I have done a little canning, so far. However, this year I am filling my jars with weekly food... salads in a jar, soups in a jar, and smoothies in a jar. Finding a… Continue reading Satisfaction Preserved
September is Off and We are Running
September is off and running.... and we are running! I've started building the set for Addams Family the Musical. The show opens in 7 weeks. Holy Cow! So much to do! At least I am getting kids to come and help. My friend John Hatch is helping a ton too. This is going to be… Continue reading September is Off and We are Running
Performing Arts Education Matters!
I am passionate about education. I believe that the main mission of education should be to spark in students a desire to be a life-long-learner. Education is more than English, science and math. Education needs to inspire students to educated themselves - ongoing, voluntary and self-motivated. Students who understand how to learn and how to… Continue reading Performing Arts Education Matters!
Strength Through the Journey
Yesterday my daughter and I were standing in the kitchen discussion different life experiences. I asked her if she regretted having gone through some of those experiences. "Nope. They made me stronger. I learned something." She gets it! Becoming a Warrior Woman means understanding that it is in the journey that we gain the strength.… Continue reading Strength Through the Journey
Positive Talk
I have a confession. My mind is never quiet. There is a constant stream of dialogue running through my brain at all times. I guess you could say I talk to myself. What can I say? I'm a good listener. LOL. I know I'm not special in this regard. As all have a set of… Continue reading Positive Talk
Wrapping up August in fresh veggies
It is great to live in a beautiful place where many things grow. This week we enjoyed fresh plums, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, zucchini, yellow summer squash, onions, green beans, raspberries and strawberries. I didn't really make "recipes" for meals. Some meals were just 1/2 a cantaloupe and a spoon. 🙂 Other meals… Continue reading Wrapping up August in fresh veggies
Do You Hear the Crickets Sing?
There is a time in every single one of our lives when we all realized we have learned to hear the crickets. Crickets are messengers. Near my home, crickets are a signal that summer is ending soon, that fall is approaching. Their cheerful little chirps add to magical late summer evenings. (I read that their… Continue reading Do You Hear the Crickets Sing?
Get Moving With Fitbit
When I first started this whole "fitness" and "healthy" living kick this past spring, I was not interested in exercise one bit. Everything hurt to move. Why would I want to increase movement? Why would I want to sign up to be shamed for my lack of mobility? My husband had a Fitbit. My son… Continue reading Get Moving With Fitbit
Amazing Little People are Getting Big
Today for Family Friday I have to celebrate two little people that always make me smile. Tomorrow this handsome little guy will turn 1 year old! A year ago this weekend, I drove away from Beckett's house, leaving his proud, yet exhausted parents and his older sister behind to love and care for him. I… Continue reading Amazing Little People are Getting Big
