Satisfaction Saturday

Satisfied with Lilli’s CET Experience

Today I am celebrating my youngest and the joy she has found in Children's Educational Theatre (CET).  I admit, it is a ton of work for me... but she is worth it!  Seven years ago I agreed to take on Technical Director for CET with the promise that my youngest would be able to participate. … Continue reading Satisfied with Lilli’s CET Experience

4 Weeks of CET down – One More to Go before the Summer Rush is over

Phew!  Summer is moving along so fast, yet, in the middle of the week it feels long.  This week has been so busy! Last Saturday, John, Lilli and I drove Bend for the Celebration of Life party for my Grandma White.  We met Kimber and Ray there.  They had fun "camping" on Grandma and Grandpa's… Continue reading 4 Weeks of CET down – One More to Go before the Summer Rush is over

Theatre Thursday

It is hard to recreate something you built before.  It never quite recreates with the same amazing look.  Although I like how the set for Lion King Jr at CET has come together, but the original set is a work I love!  Click here to read about that show and that set. The director for… Continue reading

#bethelight – Day 253 and 254

OMG!  The chaos has begun.  I am now in the longest 8 day week of my year.  Yesterday I swear I had a nervous break down... it was most likely pure exhaustion.  Through all the chaos, through every road block I hit, through every "fire" I put out, I tried to be kind.  However, the… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 253 and 254

#bethelight – Day 252

Today I took a few minutes and moved the water around my yard and pulled a few weeds in my garden.  Everyone should have a garden.  Grow a garden... even if it is only in a couple of pots on a balcony.  Fruits and veggies and herbs!  Think of all the yummy things you can… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 252

Living in the Moment through Eternity

I appreciate this statement.  Everyday I strive to live in the warrior way. This statement also resonates with me. No single moment stays in that moment.  Each moment that we make a choice, that choice effects future moments.  In some ways our choices effect past moments too. Warriors live in the moment fully aware they… Continue reading Living in the Moment through Eternity

L.E.T. G.O. of Toxic Relationships *NEW POST*

Some very good advice!

By Dr. Perry, PhD

“Toxic people attach themselves like cinder blocks tied to your ankles, and then invite you for a swim in their poisoned waters.” ~John Mark Green

I would like to share with you an acronym that I created for my patients who are dealing with the effects of a toxic relationship. This acronym is a reminder to not form an attachment to an unhealthy bond by giving it your time and energy. The relationship can be a romantic one, a friendship or familial one. Through the process of therapy, my patients learn to identify these toxic relationships. They learn coping mechanisms and defense strategies. This acronym serves as a reminder for them to focus on their well being. Every moment we have the opportunity to change the direction of our lives. By reminding ourselves to L.e.t G.o of toxic relationships we give ourselves the strength to sever…

A dream is a wish your heart makes

Yesterday I young lady I know mentioned that she can't wait to be in her 50's. She was sure that her 50's were going to be her best years. I don't know if my 50's are my best years. I'm still taking it one day at a time. The thing is, we live in a… Continue reading A dream is a wish your heart makes

#bethelight – Day 251

OMG... It's a warm day. I have to admit, I am wilting here. It made me think of all the animals I have at home... the plants in my yard and garden. Be kind... let your pet be in the shade. Put out plenty of water. Water your plants well in the morning, and maybe… Continue reading #bethelight – Day 251

Veggie Life on the Run

It's been a good week of eating a plant based diet. The thing is, the garden, the farmer's market and the farmer's co-op makes it so easy! The only real complication is time... time to prepare and time to chew. It seriously takes more time to chew fresh, raw plants, then it does to chew… Continue reading Veggie Life on the Run
